The first known cattle came from Spain to Mexico in 1540. Spanish and French colists began to raise cattle in the 18th century. After World War II, beef became a symbol of American Prosperity. As technology developed it changed the industry and refridgeration railway cars became available to transport shipments of beef back east where the consumption of beef was ever growing.
Steak is meat, usually beef, that has been cut from a much larger piece. There are several different cuts, way too many to list here. Beef is aged to allow natural enzymes to tenderize the meat, tho it shrinks slightly in size, the outcome is a better piece of meat.There are several different ways to prepare a steak, whether it be by grilling, broiling, roasting, carpaccio, or braising, one thing is certain.
